Classic Chocolate Chips

So, I've always been told that these are people's favorite dessert that i make. I thought that if people like them so much, why not share my recipe! It's very simple so feel free to add and embellish them if you want.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Cup (or half a pound) of Salted Butter
  • 3/4 Cup of Granulated Sugar
  • 3/4 Cup of Packed Brown Sugar
  • Vanilla (amount depends on personal taste, just kind of eye it)
  • 2 1/4 Cups of All Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 12 oz (or one package) of Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix together egg, butter, both sugars and vanilla in a bowl until smooth. Add flour, baking soda, and salt then add dry mixture to the butter and sugar mixture. Stir until completely mixed, dough will be slightly stiff. Stir in chocolate chips.

Spoon dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in the oven for 10-13 minutes, depending on how crunchy or baked you like your cookies. After baked, let cool on sheet until firm.

These are super easy and simple cookies. You can choose to bake them, or do what my family does sometimes and just eat the cookie dough, which is also good. If you would ever like to get any of the cookies I bake, please feel free to contact me! I hope you enjoy!

National Food Days

Many people have heard of all the funny holidays we have everyday in America like National Don't Step on a Bee Day, National Monty Python Quote Day, and my personal favorite, National Act Like a Dork Day (which is everyday for me). But there are also many national food days as well. I found out that my birthday is National Blueberry Pancake day, which is funny considering I don't like blueberries.

No matter what day, there is always a food holiday. Even today, National Cheesecake day. So to celebrate, my parents and I took part in our nightly Olympics along with a piece of cheesecake. Despite my attempts, though, I was not allowed to try to make the cheesecake, so this is a frozen SaraLee cheesecake. It was delicious, all the same.

Welcome!

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Flour Shop Bakery blog. In this blog you can find posts about baking recipes, some of my baking experiences, other bakeries, and lots more!

The purpose of this blog is to start getting a kickstart on my dream job of opening my own bakery.

Cooking and baking have always been my passion and a couple years ago, I decided that I wanted to turn my love into a future career. Over the years, I have also worked to advance my skills in the kitchen. This includes pushing myself to make more difficult things like decorated cakes, gourmet cupcakes, and different types of bread.
First croissants, hot out of the oven!

If anyones has any ideas for me to bake or suggestions, I would love to hear from you. Also, if you have any desire to order any of my baked goods, feel free to contact me so we can discuss your order. Please share to your friends, leave comments, and keep reading!
